Suspension is such an important part of a motorcycle and most modern bikes have a range of adjustments that can be made to help set the bike up for an individual rider.

This covers a range of checks on the bike as well as setting up the front and rear suspension to suit you and your riding style.
We allow between one hour and an hour and a half for the full set up and in between cups of tea we will help you get the very best from your bike. We explain what we are doing every step of the way and send you out on short road tests to see how the adjustments work for you.
The full suspension set up service costs just £70 and is backed up with a lifetime support for that machine as long as you own it. Come back a year later if you wish and we will check the settings again and see if there are improvements to be made, all free of charge.
Suspension is often forgotten about until the moment a fork seal fails and oil is dripping on the floor. Manufacturers recommend that fork oil is changed every two to three years but this is frequently ignored by many owners.
Some rear shock absorbers show serious deterioration within 20,000 miles and cannot be serviced.
Following on from our suspension set up service, Black & White Bikes are able to offer a wide range of servicing and upgrades to make your bike handle the way it did when it first came out the factory or even better!
Our standard fork service costs from £150 and includes a full strip of the forks to clean every component thoroughly and then they are rebuilt using fresh oil and new seals. Usually we will fit new bushes at this time in order to maintain optimum performance of the forks.
Most standard rear shock absorbers can be serviced too but frequently replacing them is a preferred option. We supply shock absorbers from Ohlins, K-Tech, Nitron, and YSS with a range to suit all requirements and budgets.
During the fork service it is an ideal time to consider some suspension upgrades too. As standard many motorcycles are supplied with progressive fork springs designed to cope with a huge range of rider weights and riding styles. For around £100 new springs matched to your weight can be installed and will allow the front suspension to work over the full range of movement.
We also supply fork cartridge upgrades, piston kits and emulators to improve every type of front fork.
